Ytterbygg sorts waste throughout its operations, and containers for all fractions are located at the major construction sites. Waste from the smaller renovation sites and from our building technicians is sorted at the recycling station in our depot.
For the convenience of our tenants, we have several recycling stations in our areas. The recycling station in Backa is a good example where we had problems with waste being thrown away incorrectly. We changed to clearer signs and in conjunction with the change to timed locking and camera surveillance, we organised sorting training and breakfast for all tenants where we showed everyone how sorting should be done and what happens when it goes wrong. Now the sorting works very well.
Renova has conducted a half-day training on environment and waste management for our staff.
